陳柏潔 Po-Chieh CHEN
出生於高雄,現定居台中。
從事創作、表演、教學與策展。
畢業於美國紐約州立大學柏切斯分校舞蹈學院,主修編舞 (BFA cum laude, Conservatory of Dance, State University of New York at Purchase),2002年以最高榮譽紐約州立大學首長獎畢業,並獲頒Bert Terborgh舞蹈獎。
就學期間曾演出 José Limón、Mark Morris、Doug Verone、Ayako Kurakake、Pascal Rioult、沈偉等多位編舞家的代表作品;同年並代表 Purchase Dance Corps 參與德國杜塞道夫「Global Dance 2002」,與臺、美、港、澳四國大學共同演出林懷民作品《薪傳》。畢業後受邀加入紐約 Elisa Monte Dance 擔任專職舞者,展開職業舞者生涯。
2021年與設計師陳鈺分共同創立「藝術報國」(Ars Association)。
陳柏潔的創作以「身體」作為主要的藝術語彙,透過敏銳的感官覺知與深層的身體表達,形塑出獨具特色的舞蹈美學。她所實踐的「一體化創作」將舞蹈、影像、物件、空間場域以及多元媒介交織成有機的跨域結構,在不同形式與脈絡間流動。其藝術精神源自身體及其本質的持續探問,並延伸至對個人歷史、生命經驗與社會意識的思索。她的創作涵蓋舞蹈、肢體劇場與歌劇,並在傳統劇院、特定場域及環境表演空間中呈現。
陳柏潔的創作橫跨多元類型,包括受邀於「2022樹林跳—跳島舞蹈節」演出的《歡迎來到我的練舞場》;2022年擔任導演與編舞的戶外大型偶戲舞蹈作品《艾拉—第一次造訪》,由藝術報國、衛武營馬戲平台、雲林國際偶戲節與桃園鐵玫瑰藝術節共同推出。
2024年,發表作品《發現之地》,巡演臺中、高雄;與設計師陳鈺分共同創作並演出的速寫系列1《近他方,在見與不見的地理》於「2024艋舺國際舞蹈節」亮相。同年亦受雲門舞集邀請,於「2024春鬥—編創旅程」發表獨舞作品《在場》之階段呈現;並擔任臺中國家歌劇院「2024 NTT 遇見巨人」雷哈爾輕歌劇《微笑之國》之動作設計暨指導。
2025年陸續發表《舉起手指向星辰》(發展中作品)、《在場》、速寫系列1《近他方,在見與不見的地理》(劇場版),以及受邀參與「We TAIWAN 臺灣文化 in 大阪・關西世博」於中之島展區「萬變氣場」系列,編創暨演出《艾拉—相遇中之島》,展現其持續拓展跨域敘事與身體語彙的創作能量。
現為表演藝術網絡發展協會(PANDA)理事、臺灣舞蹈生態行動協會會員、亞洲製作人平台工作營(Asian Producers’ Platform Camp)成員,並於2023年獲選為湄公河文化中心(Mekong Cultural Hub)2024 Curated Conferences 計畫成員之一。持續國內外專業網絡及跨文化發展與交流。
Born in Kaohsiung and currently based in Taichung, Po-Chieh Chen is an interdisciplinary artist whose practice spans creation, performance, curation, and teaching. She is currently the Artistic Director of Ars Association.
Chen graduated cum laude from the Conservatory of Dance at the State University of New York, Purchase College, majoring in Dance Composition. During her time in New York, she received the SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence and the Bert Terborgh Dance Award. She performed in works by renowned choreographers, including José Limón, Mark Morris, Doug Varone, Ayako Kurakake, Pascal Rioult, Thang Dao, and Shen Wei. In 2002, she represented the Purchase Dance Corps at the Global Dance 2002 Festival in Düsseldorf, performing Legacy by Lin Hwai-min. Following her graduation, she joined Elisa Monte Dance (New York) as company dancer.
After returning to Taiwan in 2004, Chen expanded her career into arts programming, production, and curation, working with Lan Yang Dance Theatre, Cloud Gate 2, and the Performing Arts Alliance (PAA). In 2015, she joined the National Taichung Theater (NTT) as Assistant to the Artistic Director, later serving as Associate Manager of the Creative Engagement Division. Her role involved curatorial development, arts education initiatives, international cultural exchange, and the production of interdisciplinary programs.
In 2021, Chen co-founded Ars Association with designer Yu-Fen Chen, focusing on body-centric creative practices that explore personal history, social awareness, and the body’s essence.
Recent works include Welcome to My Dance Floor (2022), premiered at the We Island Dance Festival: Shulin Jump, and Ayla – The First Visit (2022), co-produced by Ars Association, Weiwuying Circus Platform, Yunlin International Puppet Theater Festival, and Taoyuan Iron Rose Festival.
In 2024, she created Locus, touring in Taichung and Kaohsiung, and Sketch Series 1: The Near Elsewhere, in the Geography of Seeing and Not Seeing, co-created with Yu-Fen Chen and premiered at the 2024 Want to Dance Festival. She also presented work-in-progress Possibility of Presence at Cloud Gate Dance Theatre’s Spring Riot. Additionally, Chen was invited to serve as Movement Designer and Coach for Das Land des Lächelns (The Land of Smiles) at the National Taichung Theater (NTT) in 2024.
In 2025, her new works including The Other Among Us, Possibility of Presence, Sketch Series 1: The Near Elsewhere, in the Geography of Seeing and Not Seeing (Theater Version), and the Ayla series.
Chen is actively involved in the international performing arts community as a Board member of the Performing Arts Development Network Association (PANDA) and a member of the Asian Producers’ Platform (APP). She is also part of the Taiwan Dancing Forward Collective and was selected for Mekong Cultural Hub’s 2024 Curated Conferences Project.
